Established 2007 - Our mission:

• To raise the profile of Australian eco-design in Australia and throughout the world.
• To encourage the adaption of eco-design practice with-in the Australian creative industries.
• To grow and nurture the eco-creative industry through sharing of knowledge and to gain recognition and awareness of the essential role of eco-design and designers.
• To stimulate market demand for Australian eco-creative services and products
• Influence the adaption of economic, social, environmental and cultural considerations in the greater Australian culture and society

o2 Australia provides networking and information sharing opportunities for a growing community of creative professionals and students who:

• Embrace ecological issues as a challenging responsibility on both global and local levels
• Seek to educate and inspire people to integrate these considerations into their daily practices
• Foster cross-disciplinary collaborations
• Celebrate positive ideas and accomplishments

O2 Australia will be hosting several Green Drinks events around the country as we head into the festive season! o2 Victoria is part of the 'Green Grubs' network which represents all of Melbourne’s Green Drinks groups. o2 Australia will be announcing new partners and friends in the coming months with 2008 expected to be a time of great eco innovation and action in Australia.

We are in development and planning for an O2 Australia Eco-design Exhibition/Market mid February. O2 Australia Eco-design Competition with awards will also be launched with several Eco-design categories. State liaisons will be involved in this and we will be putting a working ‘Eco Team’ together. We will invite entries to be involved in the o2 Global Networks 20th Anniversary event 'System Reload' - Salone Internazionale del Mobile di Milano16th to the 21st of April 2008.

o2 Australia is a chapter of the o2 Global Net, an international eco-design association, www.o2.org Est.1988, with active members worldwide (Note: "o2" stands for Oxygen: The letter "o", and number "2").

In April 2007 o2 Australia joined forces with SRD - Society for Responsible Design, to further increase awareness and the accessability of Sustainable and Regenerative Ethical Design to the Mainstream consumer.

O2 Groups can be found in: Croatia, Finland, France, Mexico, Netherlands, Nordic, USA Bay Area, USA Chicago, USA New York City and US Upper MidWest.
